Opelousas, Louisiana – Arnold Trahan’s Streakin Amber ($4.00) recorded the fastest running time of the three trials held on Friday evening for the $119,500 Evangeline Downs Futurity to be run on Saturday, November 11, at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino.

Streakin Amber, a Louisiana bred two-year-old filly by Streakin La Jolla out of the Dash for Cash mare Shirleys Dash covered the 400 yard distance on a track labeled fast in 20.240 while recording her third daylight victory in as many starts. That clocking was the fastest of the twenty-three who competed in the trials by .114 seconds and earned her an excellent speed index of 95. Trained by Heath Taylor, she was ridden to victory by veteran Gilbert Ortiz.

Shakeatea ($5.60) & En Trepeins Jewel, one-two finishers in the third trial recorded the second and third fastest times of 20.354 & 20.490 respectively. McM Petfly ($7.60) won the other trial and also qualified for the final.
