Miss Creek Dasher fastest qualifier for the $336,198 LQHBA Sales Futurity at Evangeline Downs
Opelousas, Louisiana – Robert David’s Miss Creek Dasher ($17.80) recorded the fastest running time of the more than 140 Louisiana Bred youngsters who competed in fifteen trials each worth $12,000 for the LQHBA Sales Futurity on opening night, Thursday, September 27 at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino. Miss Creek Dasher, one of three sons or daughters by Toast to Dash to qualify for the rich final, covered the 350 yard distance on a track labeled fast in 17.847 while recording her initial lifetime victory in her third career start. Trained by Joseph Manucy, she was ridden to victory by Orlando Baldillez. The action was hot and heavy right from the start with only ten spots available for both the final and the consolation, half of the ten berths for the final were taken by horses competing in the opening three races, and only two of the ten berths went to horses who started in a trial from the second half of the program. Marcys Dashin Bye, a daughter of Dashin Bye recorded the second fastest time of 18.874 while checking in second behind Miss Creek Dasher in the second trial. Cute N Shiny and Miss Classy Perry, who captured the third and first trial respectively, recorded the next fastest qualifying times of 17.920 and 17.939. Here is the complete list of qualifiers and their running times for the LQHBA Sales Futurity and consolation to be run on Sunday, October 14.
